The Publicity Machine: College Radio Promotion 2007
Established in 1976 as the promotional side of our record company, The Publicity Machine maintains our contacts in the industry by keeping active at conventions - Joe Viglione speaking on November 4 at the IBS Boston regional, attending the Billboard Hip Hop / R & B convention in Atlanta, September, 2006, and speaking at the IBS National Convention in March of 2006.
Joe put together the record label panel for the IBS 2007 on March 9, 10 and 11th at the NY Penn Hotel.
We've attended many such conventions throughout the past three decades including the Musexpo in Florida, 1980, the RockPool New Music Seminar in the 1980s, CMJ for many years in the 1980s and 1990s along with about 16 years with the IBS.
We've promoted hundreds of artists over the years and are currently working with Bobby Hebb, Buzzy Linhart, Negril West, Inc., Eli Stover, Breakthrough Radio and have promoted in the past Marty Balin of The Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Genya Ravan (Polygram), Evangeline (MCA), Alvin Lee with George Harrison(Domino/Relativity), Rusty Kershaw with Neil Young (Domino/Relativity), John Mooney with Ivan Neville (Domino/Relativity), Tesla (Geffen), Cowboy Mouth (Domino/Relativity), Willie "Loco" Alexander (New Rose/RCA), Johnny Thunders of The New York Dolls, The Saints, The Troggs (of "Wild Thing" fame), Exude's classic parody of the Robert Hazard/Cyndi Lauper classic "Boys Just Want To Have Sex" (Parody of Girls Just Wanna have Fun), Producer Jimmy Miller, Producer/engineer Stuart "Dinky" Dawson, Macey's Parade, Steve Sherman, Dark Black Past, Gary Shane and The Detour, the Boston Gets Stoned project (Rolling Stones tribute), Head Too Big, A capella group Five O'Clock Shadow, Moe Tucker of The Velvet Underground, The Dream (who became Extreme) and so many more.
