Rob Morsberger & Peter Calo

Tuesday, June 28 8:00p to Wednesday, June 29 12:00a

Rob Morsberger is a singer-songwriter and classically-trained composer. His latest album, 'The Chronicle of A Literal Man', was recently featured on NPR and received raves in USA Today, The Boston Globe and Herald, and more. Writing in the Herald, renowned rock critic Kevin Convey stated that the "album is the kind of hyperliterate, pop-inflected singer-songwriter outing that went out of style when Warren Zevon died.

STACIE ROSE third full CD SHOTGUN DAISY

STACIE ROSE ROCKS on SHOTGUN DAISY
Veteran NY Songstress releases third full-length disc

MBM Exclusive review by Joe Viglione 8-31-08

Stacie Rose has created a mature and authoritative gem on her third full-length disc augmenting her long-time producer, Robert L. Smith, with co-producer Jeff Allen. There are many stand-out tracks here, "Run Out" has a little nod to Janis Joplin (not in vocal or sound, but in spirit) - very hooky, as is "Mr. & Mrs. Happily Ever After", nice sequencing two as the pair of songs are different but work well together. There's the intriguing "Not Listening", the jazzy and quite moody "December" and "Love Saves" which actually sounds like "Love waves...", a nice little Lady Mondegreen, misheard lyric. You can check out my previous review of Rose's THIS IS MINE CD from 2002 on AllMusic
and SHADOW & SPLENDOR. SHOTGUN DAISY
is a beautiful component to the triology and points out a good direction for this important artist's future.

CD: Lunch Special - Hadar Noiberg & Valdimir Katz

CD: Lunch Special
Artist: Hadar Noiberg / Vladimir Katz

by Charlene Goodman

Imagine Ornette Coleman's band (sans the alto sax) laid back with a bit of Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson in its place and you'll get just a light touch and taste of what unfolds on this 64 minute and 46 second masterpiece. Recorded in July of 2008 in Luna Studios, Tel Aviv, Israel, Vladimir Katz's brilliantly coy piano dresses the Noiberg original, "Alone", in melodic wonder as the bass of Avri Borochov works alongside it. Hadar's flute is mournful, however the accompaniment is not, though it does get dramatic as the song takes a variety of paths over the close to nine minutes. All eight tracks are an adventure and the shortest, the Turkish traditional "Yemen Elleri", still comes in at over five minutes. "Upside Down Kind 'o' Life", another Hadar Noiberg original, is eleven and a half minutes and the longest essay here. It is amazing stuff that will appeal to the Tull fans and beyond. OK, every artist that picks up a flute is going to get compared to or find a reference to Ian Anderson, and why not? Anderson highly commercialized Rahsaan Roland Kirk's moods and the Noiberg/Katz pairing drift away from all of those possible influences into a magical land that is part New Age, some jazz and lots of heart.
This is a highly recommended disc and Kimberley might be playing some of it on her new Living In The Now/Breakthrough Talk show on Tuesday, December 2.

META AND THE CORNERSTONES
This 3 song CD E.P. is a collector's item featuring 3 tracks from the full CD "Forward Music":

1)Somewhere In Africa 5:00
A tasty and solid drumbeat drives Meta's neo-gospel paean to the world's second-largest and second most-populous continent. "Peace, Love and Harmony" will spread as you air this stunning song of joy, praise and triumph. "Stand brother man...can't you see? ... Stand up sisters..." - the chorus at the end "stop this war, stop this war..Africa..." a tremendous fade out. From the full-length "Forward
Music."

2.Corner Stone 5:13
A song from the streets, Meta sings "He's so high, sitting on the corner stone" as the elegant guitars work the groove, though five minutes the song coasts with a magnetic undertow, a catchy verse and straight ahead - and stern - chorus:
"playing hide & seek with the cops/make money or die". The stellar production has guitar scrapes that buoy the lead guitar sound. It's an amazing journey deserving of spin after spin.

3.Hello Again 3:51
With that great Johnny Nash style from his March 1973 hit cover of Bob Marley's
"Stir It Up" and at three minutes and fifty one seconds Publicity Machine is pushing track 3, "Hello Again" as the radio track with crossover potential.

Biography from: http://myspace.com/metaandthecornerstones
Born in Senegal, West Africa, Meta Dia grew a deep love and true appreciation for all types of music.

As a child, while listening to his mother play Gregory Isaacs and Bob Marley on the radio his appreciation for Reggae music was founded and the desire to be a musician. In Dakar, Senegal, Meta is known as a pioneer for the voice and culture of Hip Hop.

The afro-fusion reggae of The Cornerstones and Meta's soulful, soaring voice creates a soul-pounding spiritual experience for the audience. Meta is creating something bigger than music, transcending oceans, borders, and languages. The power of what he is contributing is unifying and humbling. Meta and The Cornerstones have something big to offer whoever is listening.

Independently-produced, full-length studio album, Forward Music, was released May 29th, 2008. The album consists of 13 tracks that are electrifying and soulful. Available on Cd Baby, Digstation, Myspace and I Tunes.
More Stores to be listed soon.

ABBATTACK's 11 song CD is being shipped to the print media only. The Medley Mix and Mamma Mia CD single being shipped to radio including a 13 minute interview with the band.
